Allotment gardens have plots (allotments) that individuals/families can rent year-to-year for growing their own crops. Many allotment gardens also include donation plots, seed saving plots, and other projects.

KMFRC Kingston Community Garden
Description: Would you like to experiment with gardening? Become a KMFRC Community Garden member. This garden is for military families, veterans, DND personnel and reservists.

Elmwood Community Garden
Description: The longest continuously run community garden in Kingston, Elmwood Community Garden is nestled in the Bowling Green Apartments on city-owned land. The gardeners maintain a large composter and have two accessible garden beds for members with limited mobility.

Friendship Park Community Garden
Description: Nestled on a quiet side-street in the Skeleton Park neighbourhood, the Friendship Park Community Garden features 18 4×4 plots in a long raised bed, with one lower-sided bed for increased accessibility. Onsite composting, rain barrels, and some basic supplies & tools in a shed. The park has a great playground, tennis/basketball court, and small path; bring your kids, dogs, and friends along to do some gardening! $20 annual fee.

Lakeside Community Garden
Description: Lakeside Community Garden welcomes new gardeners and volunteers to join as plots become available. Lakeside is involved in a variety of projects including individual gardening plots, a large donation garden, school gardens, edible food forest, medicinal garden, seed saving initiative, native species/butterfly gardens and an opportunity for more. $10 general membership, $30 plot holder membership.

Description: Operated on city-owned land, it is a welcoming place where residents can come together, grow food, friendships, learn and share. $10 membership. Fees vary depending on bed size.

MacLean Trail Community Garden
Description: On municipal heritage property on Hwy 15, MacLean Trail Community Garden offers twelve 4’x16’ raised bed gardens. The garden enhances the use of the property as a centre for community gatherings, and provides significant community benefit including contributing to local food programs. Some garden beds are leased for exclusive use by individual members, while other beds are reserved for common and donation beds. $10 membership. Fees vary depending on bed size.

Oak Street Community Garden
Description: Oak Street Community Garden is a place for everyone and anyone to grow food for themselves and others and to learn about food gardening. Ongwanada Community Garden
Description: Ongwanada’s community garden offers 16 tilled garden plots measuring 8′ x 20′ available for rental for the gardening season. One stipulation is that all plots must remain herbicide free and pesticide free. Your yearly $30 plot fee includes the use of one garden plot, use of Ongwanada’s garden tools, and the preparation of the soil in spring and fall, and water supply.

Sunnyside Community Garden
Description: The Sunnyside Community Garden is a volunteer-run organization working in partnership with Utilities Kingston and OPIRG Kingston. Its goals are to enable residents to grow their own food and flowers, to give people a place to meet neighbours, to provide educational opportunities for the community, and to provide a welcoming place for everybody to enjoy. The garden is located in the Williamsville neighbourhood and includes allotments and a donation garden. $30 membership.

Description: The Wolfe Island Community Garden is a flexible, multi-purpose and sustainable outdoor resource for community use. It is a welcoming space for all ages, including youth, to exchange knowledge/experience and to develop skills related to gardening and healthy, active living. The garden is a central space that encourages connection and collaboration between many residents and community groups/organizations.
