Loving Spoonful’s The GROW Project engaged students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 through hands-on, curriculum-connected learning around good food, community, collaboration, and environmental stewardship.  These lesson plans were developed for educators to use to teach students important life skills for long-term health and eco-literacy, while building engagement and a connection to their community. The Wiisinidaa! Program is delivered in partnership with Tipi Moza (Iron Homes). The Ojibwe word, wiisinidaa, means “let’s eat”.

Cooking Connections is an 8 week workshop series that is psychoeducational in nature for persons living with mental health and/or substance use disorders. 

Open Kitchen is an ongoing weekly workshop for adults (18 and older) offered in a safe and inclusive environment at no charge.  Cooking and eating together cultivates deep community and lasting relationships.

Outdoor Kitchens travels to communities within the city that typically do not have access to recreational facilities with kitchens to offer food literacy program outdoors.

Loving Spoonful convenes the Kingston Community Gardens Network, with the support of the City of Kingston.

Good Food on a Budget is a workshop that introduces good food, meal planning, and healthy cooking.

Our Gleaning program works with dozens of local farmers to collect surplus food, and redistribute that food to alleviate food insecurity in the community.

Food that is harvested through our Agriculture and Gardens programs and collected from farmers through our Gleaning program is distributed to dozens of partner agencies through the Community Food Redistribution Warehouse (CFRW).
