The Meat Up

This unique and transformative program has helped shelters, meal programs, and other agencies save an estimated 50% on meat since launching in summer 2017. This means that even healthier meals are served to clients experiencing hunger.


In response to agency demand for more affordable protein, we partnered with three local suppliers to offer low-cost quality meat products. Agencies order weekly through the Meat Up, an easy-to-use app developed by volunteer programmer, Mike Porter.

Our meat suppliers – Wallace Beef, Quinn's MeatsPig & Olive Premium Meats and Doublejay Farms  offer deeply discounted prices on quality, locally-farmed products and deliver them directly.
