Volunteer opportunities at Loving Spoonful vary throughout the year and by program need, but here is a general list of the roles that are offered at one time or another over the year.

Fresh Food Delivery Drivers
Deliver fresh, healthy food from grocery stores, restaurants, and our cold storage to local shelters and meal programs by car, and reduce food waste while you're at it! You can sign up for recurring or occasional routes, depending on your schedule.
Daytime and weekend volunteer opportunities are available year-round.

Gardeners / Gleaners
Spend time in the fresh air during the summer and fall! Gardeners help to build and establish new gardens to grow more food in the City. Gleaners collect surplus crops from farmers' fields and urban gardens to help reduce food waste and redistribute it to Kingston communities who need it.

Volunteer opportunities are available from July to November.

Email Ayla@lovingspoonful.org directly for more information or to sign up for Gardening and/or Gleaning.

Market Booth Ambassadors
Enjoy the market during summer while collecting fresh healthy produce at the Downtown Kingston Public Market or at the Memorial Centre Farmers Market for our Grow A Row program.
Volunteer opportunities are available while markets are open from May to October.

Kitchen Workshop Assistants
Help out in our Community Kitchens cooking classes where we make healthy, affordable meals, building food literacy and community as we work together in the kitchen and share meals. Some food skills and an outgoing and encouraging attitude are required.
Volunteer opportunities vary by program need throughout the year.

Event Support
Primarily during summer months, volunteers help plan, execute and staff our community-building and fundraising events.

Volunteer opportunities vary by event need.

School Workshop Assistants
GROW Project Workshop Assistants help out in hands-on food and garden workshops where students explore, plant, harvest, and cook, in the classroom or garden while learning values of stewardship and responsibility.
Workshops take place in the spring and fall, during school hours.
